This week in Maynooth Education Campus it is Amber flag week 14th – 18th January 2019

This week sees the launch of the Amber Flag Initiative in Maynooth Education Campus.The Amber Flag promotes Positive Mental Health and Suicide Awareness.

Through a series of project ideas and school activities, we hope to raise awareness of the importance of Positive Mental Health and reduce the stigmas associated with it.

· #Livelife foundation talk to 2nd year students

· Random acts of kindness – students on student council will visit tutor classes to ask one student per tutor class to select one random act of kindness to carry out that day

· Break time games in the library – board games open to all students to come and visit

· Wellbeing classes to participate in adding to the ‘Wall of Graititude’ outside the library using the slips and thumb tacks provided

· Random acts of kindness amongst staff – pick a name and carry out one anonymous random act of kindness for that person before Friday

· Feel good music - to be played on speakers in the canteen, reception area and the assembly hall before tutor class in the morning

· ‘Staff Powerpacks’ for each staff member

· Morning meditation from 8.15 – 8.45 in room 12.

· Active afternoonyoga class from 4.20 -5.00 after school open to all students to attend

· Wellbeing classes to participate in adding to the ‘Wall of Graititude’ outside the library using the post-its and thumb tacks provided

· Break time games in the library – board games open to all students to come and visit

· Mens mental health talk – for senior cycle male students (6th years)

· Wellbeing classes to participate in adding to the ‘wall of graititude’ outside the library using the post-its and thumb tacks provided

· Break time games in the library – board games open to all students to come and visit

· Strength and Conditioning class for students after school from 4.20 – 5.00 open to all students

· Strength and conditioning class for teachers after school from 5.00 – 5.40

· Garden of remembrance clean-up morning – Students to help clean up and prepare flower boxes for garden of remembrance.

· Wellbeing classes to participate in adding to the ‘Wall of Graititude’ outside the library using the post-its and thumb tacks provided

· Break time games in the library – board games open to all students to come and visit

· Cycle Against Suicide Spinathon – to raise awareness and spread the messages ‘it’s okay not to feel okay and its absolutely okay to ask for help’.
