As part of our Wellbeing and Citizenship modules in MEC I am appealing to you to promote the Shoebox appeal for 2018. As a large school we have the opportunity to make a real difference this Christmas. I know it's early, however I feel that many homes in Maynooth would have a few bits and pieces in their homes due to the extra shopping for School supplies that was done this August and September. It should not cause a financial strain if the students can get organised and start gathering a few things together over the coming weeks. Generally speaking the box should contain the four Ws.......... namely something to Write with (pen, colours, notebook, copy etc), Wash with (toothpaste, soap. facecloth, tissues etc), Wear (hat, gloves, underwear, socks etc) and a WOW! (jellies, toy car, fidget spinner etc). The box also needs a donation of €4 to cover transport. Boxes must be collected in school after the Halloween break. Details available on Team Hope website. I would really appreciate your help in encouraging your students to participate in this appeal, after all it's only 68 sleeps to go!!!
