Heartbreak for MEC in 1st Year Cup Final
Hard luck to the 1st year school rugby team who lost out in the schools cup rugby final on a score line of 31-7.
A strong first half display from Naas CBS left us with an uphill battle in the second half.
The Maynooth boys showed great courage in the second half, with great build up play from the forwards allowing the backs to get the ball out to Ryan Bujingo who scored a wonderful try.
Congratulations to Naas CBS on a great performance. A big thanks as well to the second and fifth years who have helped the team throughout their campaign. Our own lads can be very proud of their performance, as well as their previous wins over Patrician Secondary School Newbeidge and Salesian College en route to the final. They will no doubt make great additions to our Junior Cup team next year in what will hopefully be an exciting season for rugby in MEC!
