On 3rd July, local representatives and representatives of Maynooth Post-Primary School, Maynooth Community College, and Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) met with Richard Bruton, Minister for Education and Skills. The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Building Unit of the Department of Education and Skills.
The meeting was very productive and key matters relating to the re-establishment of construction works for Maynooth Education Campus were discussed. The meeting was pleased to hear of the progress made to date on essential stabilising works for the project and the revised timeline prepared by the project Design Team was also addressed.
The immediate requirements of the schools - in the form of additional temporary accommodation and a survey of the current school building - were outlined and agreed.
KWETB will continue to work closely with DES on the identification of a new contractor for the project and the Design Team is continuing to refine and implement the critical path for the completion of the two school buildings.
