Art Craft Design

One of the most exciting subjects you can study is Art, Craft Design.   You will see examples of it everywhere we look.  It is part of what we are, the way we live and the things we do.

Careers in the future- Art would be good not only for entry to art colleges but also for careers like:-

1. Marketing and Advertising as it is used in the design of visual presentation of products and services,
2. Film and TV in the use of special effects, costumes, sets, make up etc.
3. IT Design
4. Primary and Secondary School teaching.

and many more.

Students who opt for art at Junior Cycle will learn a range of skills working in various mediums including painting/drawing, printmaking, graphic  design,  batik, pottery /modelling and construction to name but a few.

The Junior Cert in Art is based on project work carried out in class time during the third year using the skills learned.

In Leaving Cert points gained in art are as relevant as any other subject through the CAO system for third level courses.
