Maynooth Post Primary School
Maynooth Post Primary School is a community of students, staff and parents. We aim to create a warm and caring learning
environment in which all students can achieve their full potential. We value the unique contribution of each individual in an
atmosphere of tolerance, partnership and shared respect.

Learning Support

Students with special needs are identified through

  • Information from parents
  • Reports from primary schools
  • Assessment tests
  • Psychological reports

Allocation of time

The Special Needs Organiser (SENO) for the area looks after the provision of teaching hours and special needs assistants (if necessary) on the basis of student's psychological reports.

Learning support teachers source materials and prepare programmes suitable for students. A system of small group withdrawal operates to assist with numeracy and concentration skills. One-to-one support is given when deemed necessary.

Reasonable accommodation is arranged in school tests and state exams.
