Maynooth Post Primary School
Maynooth Post Primary School is a community of students, staff and parents. We aim to create a warm and caring learning
environment in which all students can achieve their full potential. We value the unique contribution of each individual in an
atmosphere of tolerance, partnership and shared respect.

Computers

Computers are not regarded as a separate subject but rather as a necessary tool designed to give an added dimension to learning.

Classes are timetabled for LCVP students who must word process a comprehensive portfolio (40% of marks). Classes are also timetabled for TY students who take the Microsoft Office Specialist Exams as part of their course.

Junior classes with reduced subjects may also be timetabled. The rest of the timetable is available to subject teachers who wish to use the computer room to introduce, re-inforce or research a topic. Time is also scheduled so that individuals or small groups wishing to do projects may be supervised.

Most classrooms are also equiped with their own computer. We hope to extend this. A second computer room was added as part of the new extension. There are also a number computers in the library.
