Technical Graphics is a junior certificate subject focusing on precision drawing using drawing boards, T-squares & set squares.

It is a three year course where pupils will expect to learn topics such as ellipses, orthographic projection, developments, transformation drawing, area conversion as well as shorter techniques used to answer short questions in the junior cert exam. Technical graphics provides a solid base for the leaving certificate subject Design & Communication Graphics, but unlike that subject T.G. Does not have any computer element to it.

The subject is examined at the end of third year in one 3 hour exam for higher level, & a 2 1/2 hour exam for ordinary level. There is no project or practical element to the subject meaning the exam is 100% of the mark.
