Maynooth Post Primary is a co-educational, multi-denominational and none, school with non selective entry. It opened in 1971 as a Vocational School in the grounds of the Presentation Convent and moved to its present location on the Moyglare Road in 1972 under the auspices of County Kildare Vocational Educational Committee.

West Leinster Schools Athletics 2013
On Tuesday the 22nd of April Maynooth Post Primary School Competed in the West Leinster Athletics Competition. They competed against 1,300 athletes from 48 different secondary schools in West Leinster. They competed in many events both Track and Field with great results.
Johnathan Landy came 1st in the Junior Boys High jump with a jump 1.60. Katie Merrick won Gold in the Minor Girls long jump jumping a distance of 4.45. Ciara Hewson won the Senior Girls 3,000m. Sinead Burke won Gold in the Intermediate Walk. Sarah Hayes qualified in 4th place in Minor Girls 1,100m. Conor Murphy qualified 5th in the 1,500m. These athletes will now go on to compete in the Leinster Schools. With more athletes to compete on Thursday the 25th of April hopefully more Maynooth Post Primary athletes will join these athletes.
