6th year Careers update.
1. 6th year students will receive CAO handbooks and information from guidance department on Oct 6th.
This will be followed up by a presentation to 6th year students on CAO application and other third level options by Dr. John Mc Ginnity , Admissions officer at Maynooth University,on Wednesday 17th Oct.
2. The guidance department have organised an information night for 6th year parents on Thurs 18th Oct , which will be attended by Dr. John Mc Ginnity to inform parents of the CAO process. The guidance Team will also be in attendance.
3. Mary Higgins Associate Director of Education Recruitment and Marketing will give a UCAS presentation to 5th and 6th year students interested in applying to Uk Colleges and universities.
4. PTA and Guidance department will host Careers event night on Thurs Nov. 15th in the school . A variety of different careers and colleges are available on the night to students and parents.
In support of their Career journey, 6th years will engage in a vocational interview with a member of the guidance team. they will receive a information pack to be discussed at home on completion of the interview.
Please be aware of Open days for colleges and universities. These are all listed on www.qualifax.ie under calendar of events. Students are strongly advised to attend open days at weekends and not during school time.
