Momentous Moment at Maynooth Post Primary with the Opening of a New ASD Unit

The date 22nd February 2021 will be celebrated in Maynooth Post Primary school for many years to come as it was the day that we opened our fabulous and purpose built facilities for our two special classes and welcomed our first cohort of students to our splendid new school building at Mariavilla, Maynooth.

Maynooth Post Primary School is a community of students, staff and parents and we aim to create a warm and caring learning environment in which all students can achieve their full potential. We value the unique contribution of each individual in an atmosphere of tolerance, partnership and shared respect.

Maynooth Post Primary is an inclusive school that respects, values and accommodates diversity in the student community. The school seeks positive experiences, a sense of belonging and the achievement of academic potential for all students through the medium of English.

Students with special educational needs are welcomed in Maynooth Post Primary and the school is very proud to open our first special classes after fifty years. Indeed we take great pride in our ability now to fulfil our mission statement and provide for all students. We have two Special Classes, Laurel & Willow, attached to the main stream school which we established to cater for the special educational needs of a maximum of 12 students i.e. two classes of 6 students.

Many thanks to our two coordinators, Mr. Tadhg Martin and Ms. Aisling Murtagh who along with Deputy Principal Ms. Jacinta Murphy have worked tirelessly to make our dream of opening our special classes a reality. It is testament to their hard work and their vision that we welcome our 12 students to the school

We would like to wish all our teachers and students every success into the future.
